thanks for the re-post. there are some pretty striking things about this UOA:

-the oil barely sheared at all, 7.8 to 7.6--yet its startup viscosity of obviously thin

-the TBN is high, considering the starting TBN is only 6.4. So much for all of the worries about oils with low starting TBN

-this car doesn't seem all that tough on oil (that's not really striking--it's been the case for almost all of the UOA's on this engine).

Have you swapped the transmission fluid on it yet?

Yeah...... I went with this other lab because I don't trust Blackstone at all. I guess they all screw up. Maybe I will use Polaris next time? That makes me wonder if the <1 TBN on the 10K+ run of Red Line in my moms car was an error, too?
 
Yeah, thanks for the new info. That certainly answers the question. ANY lab can make a mistake. I know a guy that began aggressive prostate cancer treatment only to find there was a lab mixup...... be grateful this is only an anomalous oil sample.

BTW, note that the Iron went way down too.
