Nissan Xterra review

What do you guys think of the 2005 Xterra? Sounds like a bargain for the money.

I drove 2 05 frontier crew cabs with the 6 speed manual and the 4.0 v6 which has a final rating of 265hp and 284 lb ft or torque.
The engine is awsome and the entire truck felt great and was very solid and smooth.
Both trucks had less than 100 miles on them but from my exprience with my 04 frontier, once they get about 7000 miles on them they perform significantly better.

Its got some good juice under the hood, but other than the Sequoia, Armada, and Expedition, I dont really care for SUVs. They are too good at squeezing a third row seat while leaving the middle row useless for full sized adults. Ill take a nice crew cab titan for less than the Xterra. I just like trucks better anyway.

I had a 2001 XTerra, while it was a good vehicle the downsides, IMO were:
1.lack of power
2.gas mileage proportional to lack of power
3.antiquated steering

Now, if this vehicle has another 95 HP and gets the same mileage, there go numbers 1 and 2. I also belive that the new one will have a rack and pinion steering setup, so someone might actually be able to align it and keep it straight...

Compared to other vehicles out there, it is a bargain, and, if you're like me and like a manual transmission, it's one of the few SUVs left where you can actually buy a manual transmission...
