Recently bought this Duramax. Changed the oil when the maintenance reminder came on in the dash. Unknown oil and unknown interval from previous owner.

No visible signs of coolant system issues. Upper radiator hose is not hard. No bubbles or soot in overflow tank. Has not used any coolant in the last 2000 miles. No white residue on dipstick or oil cap. Does not overheat, coolant runs about 185F unloaded and 200F loaded. Curious if the oil cooler, EGR cooler or turbo are common causes of minor coolant dilution or if my head gaskets are on their way out.

Wear numbers also seem higher then normal to me.

This is one of the nuances of oil samples... They can tip you off but they can drive you crazy. Honestly what most folks will likely tell you (and the report does as well) is to drive it for a while and resample.

I personally like the Blackstone reports because they tell you the universal averages for the vehicle. So in your instance, 65 for Sodium doesn't tell me much. Is that number suppose to be 60 or 6???

Just my $0.02
