This car is ran pretty hard. Rarely warmed up.. It was idled sometimes during lunchat work. It just sat around a lot also. Car is not driven as much now as I live closer to work, have another vehicle also.

I almost forgot I used Fuel Power for just about every tank of gas.

The silicon is a bit on the high side. Do you have a K&N air filter. That might be why your silicon/sodium is a bit high. I doubt that you need a 40 weight oil in that 2.5 in Pa.

You could switch to GermamCastrol Syntec 0W-30 which is a bit thicker. Or you could mix a quart of 15W-50 in with the 5W or 10W-30.

It does have a k&n filter, but its only been instaleld since 21,640miles. I kinda wish I woulda waited to put it on,so I'd have a comparison.

Not sure about mixing the 15W50.. It holds about 4.5Q how much would a quart thicken the 30?

It will be in the upper 30 wt. range. Two quarts will put it in the lower 40 wt range.

I went ahead and put 5W30 M1 EP in. Walmart had it for 23.86. I didn't see 04W40 anywhere and WM only
had 15W50 in 5quart jugs. I'll do a sample on this eventually.

I'd swap out the K&N for 1-2 service intervals and re-test. I think you can get the Fe and Cr lower with better air filtration. Those #'s are quite high for a small displacement, four cylinder engine after only 3000 miles of oil use.

I would but at the rate I'm going it would take years to rack up enough miles.
I don't see any advantages of using this Fuel Power either.

I didn't see many QR25De analysis on here. But the ones I did find all had more lead but less Cu/Fe for some reason.
But I didn't see any reports with this mileage.

I tend to drive in 2nd gear thru the parking lot at work, and other places possibly lugging the motor. Would this be causing increased wear maybe?

I thought AVlube would have something to say about this report, but maybe you have to ask first.

Lugging the engine will defenately up your lead. I do it-unfortunately. I think that as long as you don't accelerate in that range you would be O.K. I'm guessing that using 1st is just too low a gear.

Do you post on B15sentra.net?? I'm adc100 over there.

Expensive oil and 3,000 mile oil changes. Slightly elevated Iron levels with Mobil-1.

Sigh, we have seen it all too many times.

If you are going to do 3,000 mile OCIs, save some money and use any good conventional oil. I would bet that you will see the Iron level come down and have more cash in your pocket.

No I don't post on B15, I read over there sometimes.

Its not that expensive when you only change the oil 2 or 3 times a year. I mean its not even worth thinkin about.
If I drove more I would just run the oil longer. But I was kinda trying to stay within the warranty guidelines.
