I put on a bunch of new suspension components on my CRV today, and I absolutely cannot press this ball joint in any further to get the snap ring groove exposed. As stated, the stock ball joint was only pressed, and didn't have a snap ring. I pressed it in with a ball joint press and an air supplied IR impact. Could this ball joint fit another application that calls for a snap ring and mine does not?
2004 CRV-Cannot get snap ring on new ball joint. Stock ball joint did not have one installed.

are you sure the ball joints are for your model/year?
When I worked at Htyundai, they could order 2 types of ball joints, 1 fitted, 1 didn't

What year is this, awd or rwd? This may help, it seems they did away with it.
