2003 Corolla 1.8l 1zz-fe engine oil recomendation

Hi all,
Car has 41000 miles on the odometer.
Puchased 3 months ago and has been driven
about 1600 miles since then.
Wife drives it back and forth to work, 6 miles
rountrip. Trip is on a 4 lane boulevard, 45 mph
all the way with 3 stop lights.

I am getting ready to do first oil change and
would like to go synthetic.
Will be using Napa Gold filter.

Recomendations appreciated.

I had the same engine. You want Mobil 1 5w-30 winter, 10w-30 summer.

What weight does the owners manual suggest for the upcoming months?

Has it used any oil in the 1600 miles since purchased?

Is it clean below the oil filler cap?
If everything looks fine, any name-brand synthetic you find on sale will work nicely. If it looks dirty inside, start-off with Mobil-1 EP.

Mobil 1 or Pennzoil or GC would do well - or you could do the full 12 months with Amsoil 5W-30 ASL or HDD.
