This oil did quite well...another impressive XL 5w-20 UOA. Should've continued using it.

I think the low Flashpoint is from the fuel dilution that is common in Hondas, and may also be the cause of the high lead.

Amsoil XL 5w-20 is a great oil. I wonder if some of the Pb is from the RL SI-1? I'm using about 1oz per fill up which is usually 14 gallons. Dave G from RL said 1 to 1.5oz per 10 gallons is the best dose for continued use.

This oil held up well for the most part. Not sure about the Tin. You don't need a PAO to make a good oil.

It seems that short trips = fuel dilution for these v6 Honda's which I suspect contributes to the high(er)lead, tin and low flash.

What is Honda's recomended OCI for this driving scenario(severe)? Mileage wise, how does the 20 weight compare to the 30? It would be interesting to see how GC would do compare to both weights as well.

IMO, I would stick with lower OCI(3750k miles max) using cheaper oil(Superflo, etc). Nothing really wrong with this UOA result, I just think that shorter OCI would be better for this motor/driving.

I have same car, running 5W-20 dino with LC and Sch. 132...did a UOA close to the mileage you are at, had much lower copper, iron and lead figures. Other Honda V6 engines at your mileage have also had elevated copper levels. Maybe ask some of the pros, esp. Terry, if they have suggestions.

Those are tough conditions for any oil. Amsoil is working in a PAO 0w-20 and 5w-20 oil. FYI.

I appreciate all the comments so far.

pinoy99,
Honda's recommendation for severe service is for an oil & filter change every 3750 miles or 6 months.

Fuel dilution is written all over this pretty much like it was last interval. However, I believe the oil did real well for the conditions. But, the lead & tin rising do concern me somewhat.

I will be using FP60 during my current interval.

STSinNYC,
What oil are you using? I doubt your driving conditions would allow for much of a comparison between the two when discussing a small ppm but then again it might.

I think I will take the GC out to 10k miles or 1 year. Any thoughts on that?

I think the GC is more capable of a 10k mile drain under these types of condtions more so then a 5w-20. Being more on the thick side would be more ideal with the fuel dilution which could cancel out an oxidation thickening. Something Terry said Amsoil used to bank on.
