You did better than me. I have always driven for economy (best performance means engine works least), and my recently traded '01 Ram 1500 2WD QC SB with same size tires and gears only got 19 at 58-63 mph. I had an off-road tread tire (came with truck), ran REDLINE and SCHAEFFERS and felt that the tires were the biggest impediment to breaking 20 mpg on that truck.
It weighed from 5,200 to 5,600-lbs in usual configurations. The 318 struggled to keep in overdrive in the hills (never did get around to replacing intake manifold gasket, an awesomely common problem [no, I had no discernible oil consumption, but a plug check -- #6 & #8 showed fouling]); seems you've found the sweet spot. Good luck.
