Hi guys,

I changed my cam plug seal which is common for.these engines.

A very small piece of plastic fell into my oil and I'm.qondering about changing the filter after a hundred miles or so.

I'm assuming it onto cause an issue being such a small (1/4" x 1/4) piece. I pulled the valve cover and it's long gone.

Thoughts? Would it end up in the filter?

Thanks.

Ryan

It will probably make its way to the oil pan and remain there. The oil pump pick up should have a screen that will prevent it from being sucked up. It could block part of the screen, just sit at the bottom of the pan, or hopefully flow out with your next oil change.

It would likely end up in the strainer on the oil pickup-it's a fine screen which wouldn't let something that big through. Short of dropping the pan, you're not going to get it out.

You may get lucky and it comes out with the oil, its not a big deal it wont get anywhere it shouldn't or block anything. Don't loose any sleep over this.

Thanks a ton guys. That's what I figured. I put the new gaskets on and shes nice and dry. Glad I dont have to stress.
