Below are all the results of oil analysis from my 2000 VW Jetta TDI. The highlight of this are the 53,000 miles I used Amsoil Series 3000 5w-30 (HDD) with an Amsoil BMK-11 bypass filter, between 46,000 and 99,000 miles. The car was chipped. Notice how quickly I piled on the miles on this car. Most miles were with Flying J or similar truck syop diesel fuel. The most recent sample was with mostly long trips and almost all high quality Amoco Powerblend 47 cetane diesel. I think I could count the number of cold starts on one hand, so its not suprising the numbers are very good. Not exactly a fair comparison to the Amsoil HDD before. I will also add that at 120Kmi, one of the HDD 5w-30's biggest critics in the TDI world did a compression test and tested compression values at 550,555,550,545 and noted how spotless the engine was inside. Regards, Brian

The engine was filled with fresh oil 9/5/00. Between 9/5/00 and 6/10/01 I put 53,000 miles on the oil. I thought some might find these results interesting. -brian

Brian - Where did you tap in to the system and return back to. I have an Oil Gaurd that I want to install on my 02 TDI. I wa thinking of getting the oil from the oil sender and returning it back via a hollow drain bolt. The hollow drain bolt could be a pain for oil drains as it would have to be removed. I would also loose the use of my Fumoto valve.
