One owner, Bought in April with 119,000 miles and have put roughly 12,000 miles on her. She now has 132,000 miles and is driven mostly on short trips and some longer day trips. So far I have replaced the lower ball joints with ( Moog ), new KYB struts and KYB front sway bar links. The suspension after 25 years was very tired but she now drives and handles like a proper 25 year old classic BMW wagon should! I have new Monroe rear shocks on the shelf ready to install soon. I’ve changed the oil 3 times using Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30, siphoned and filled the transmission with Supertech MerconV, and siphoned and filled the PS with MerconV. and flushed and filled the coolant. After each 5,000 mile OCI the dipstick is still on full. We’ve also made one 4 day beach trip and a 5 day Western N.C., Eastern Tn Smoky Mountain 750 mile round trip and averaged almost 30 mpg. I have noticed at some stoplights other drivers behind me pointing and laughing but I think most people don’t get how nice old classic BMW’s perform and handle. After all back in the day they were advertised as “ The Ultimate Driving Machine “ !

uh should this be in the humor section?

Monroe shocks/struts are garbage.
If you want better performance, step up to the SVT Focus suspension kit from Ford.
Did this on my 07 SES Focus sedan and it was a night and day difference.
It'll really have it performing like an actual BMW.
