I am going to change the oil in my 1992 Lincoln Towncar. It has been in there since the first of 2008.

It hasn't been driven that much, maby just 500 MI

It has Carstol 10w-40 in it, because it burns thin oil.

Is two years to long to leave the old oil in it?

It is going to be driven ALOT more from now on __ maby 60 mi a day.

Or.......is the oil still ok?

Carstol is my favorite oil. It ranks right up there with Car-stall.
Both excellent oils, should easily last for 2 years in the crankcase.
Drain it anyway, and replace with Car-go.

If two year old oil with more miles on it is OK for Dr. Haas's Ferrari then I'd say you pretty safe with your Towncar.

Mileage is the main thing. It's short trips in winter (not bringing the oil up to temperature) that depletes the detergents, etc in the oil.

When I saw Carstol I thought of car-stall also.
