Both oils were tested for start up oil flow and piston slap issues with
this engine. Both noteably quieter on start tha 5w-30 with no problems in oil flow to internals. Moly contributed to increased fule economy but it was less than 3% and not verified in this test sequence. The 7000 was tested at 16F for cold start, 20F for delo 400.

Note decreased NOX and OXD when using 7000.
Test is part of spectrographic series for Mr. Winters website.

I'm curious as to why this person was going with such a thick oil in that engine? If they were having piston slap issues, why mask the problem with a thicker oil instead of having it fixed under warranty?

That is an awfully thick oil for that engine, I wouldn't dream of putting an oil that thick in my wife's Honda.

Somewhere you have external contaminates. The Boron and Sodium are not in the Delo 400. Assuming you have Anti-Freeze, and the test for glycol is negative, it is not coming from the coolant (if you use plain water, it could be). Possibly washed the engine? The water evaporates but leaves the solids behind. Or had residuals in the sample bottles?
Which oil was in the engine first? The Calcium is the lowest I've ever seen on a Delo analysis, even after 12,000 miles on lousy Diesel fuel.
