Oil filter: Purolator premium
Miles on oil: 7,673
Miles on engine: 136,435
Oil added: 1.5 quarts (.5 quart at 3,000 miles & 1 quart at 6,500 miles)

My notes: This was about 6 months on this oil with a mix of about 90% highway and 10% short trips (one day a week would have 7-8 1/4 mile trips).

Current set-up is 5w30 PP with a Mobil 1 EP filter. The 7-8 short trips have been eliminated so it should be 95% highway miles.

Nathan: This is easily the longest oil run that we've seen from your Honda and wear looks great here! We don't think that going 10k miles on your next oil would be too many, as your engine wears far better than most. We found nothing in this sample that would point to any obvious mechanical problems developing and the sample was free of harmful contaminants, as well. At 136, 435 miles, we think the 1.8L that powers your Civic is wearing like a champ. Check back when you have your oil changed next. Who knows? You may be able to go longer than 10k miles on the oil.

bet this do nicely in a '09 YARIS ( 1.5 ltr. ) . May wait on a sale for P.P. and pass on the QUAKER H.P. . Even though 1.5 qts. were added to this O.C..

seems like the 1.6 ltr. engine for TOYOTA and MITSU did very well too . Had a '86 CHEVY Nova ( Corolla ) 4 door liftback with the 3 speed auto that died at 270 thousand plus miles and a '82 PLYMOUTH Champ ( MITSU Colt ) that had over 130,000 miles on engine and going strong . Problem with the CHAMP is that the drivers side rear shock went through the tire well from rot . Were noted for that . The CHAMP had the TWIN STICK , a 4 speed manual with a shift lever for ECONOMY / POWER mode on the the floor . Would lower the gear ratio for power mode . Had a lot of fun with that car . Picked it up used for $150 and ran it for over 40,000 plus miles . Had to get a clutch not long after we bought . That was less than $500 with labor . Wish they'd bring that TWIN STICK back . Sorry to ramble . :- ) THANKS FOR THE POST . ;- )

oh , most of oil changes were PENNZOIL 5w-30 or 10w-30 at 3,000 > 4,000 mile intervals . They were used for 2 motor routes . So much for sludge .
