I know of a very similar Capri for sale right up the road from us.
My sister also had one in the same color when they were new.
IIRC, this car was buit in Australia on a Mazda platform.
These cars were not noted for reliability when new and probably haven't improved with age.
Finally, if a Ford Master Parts guy is saying that parts are now hard to find, I'd listen.
 
Had a fellow officer stationed with me in Germany who had one of these. It spontaneously burst into flames one night on post.

Not sure if the car was totally to blame as he was lax about maintenance. But still, I think there are far better car choices out there.
 
It's a rebodied Mazda 323 built in Australia. My wife's friend had one (an XR2 turbo) and loved it...she sadly retired it with over 275,000 miles because it needed a large amount of work (noisy transaxle, bad turbo, and the top was starting to go) that would have run about $5000. It was reliable and parts were no problem.
