I couldn't get the lower to pop that wayHit it on the side with a BFH. Brace the control arm as best you can so the all the force of the hammer strike goes to the knuckle

This is the stuff of my nightmares.When doing a valve adjustment and using a ratchet to turn the crank, it is very important to remove the ratchet before starting the car.

Don't know how many valve adjustments I've done in my my life, across a myriad of cars. This was my fourth (fifth?) on this Trooper.This is the stuff of my nightmares.
This and rebuilding an engine and then leaving a bolt in the intake or forgetting a valve keeper
