‘85 GMC Vandura 2500 StarCraft Conversion van for trade. It’s truly a time capsule type of vehicle and it’s got a great body. I was able to remove the exhaust clamps with hand tools. Central Texas vehicle its whole life.

120K, 305 V8 with professionally rebuilt 4 barrel carburetor. Automatic transmission. 2.73 rear end gear ratio.

I’m the third owner. The second owner was an elderly gentleman who owned it from 1991-2020. It was getting to be a bit too much to handle for him (as evidenced by the small bit of damage on the driver’s door). It was a treasured vehicle to him and to myself. The van has seen many family vacations, including trips to and from Del Rio, San Antonio, Houston, and even Wisconsin under my ownership.

Since 2020: carburetor rebuilt, A/C compressor and blower motor replaced, new radiator and hoses, new shocks, new exhaust, LED upgrade to the interior indirect lights, new taillights, new side marker lenses, gear oil changed, new Nexen N’Priz AH5 tires in 2021 (the highest load capacity you can get in that size of white wall tire).

Oil changes every 2,500 miles with HD motor oil. I used non-ethanol gas wherever it was available.

No cracks in dashboard and the rest of the interior is in great shape for its age. Front AND rear a/c work great. Cruise control works. Rooftop unit blows air, but heating/cooling capability unknown. It is set up so you can hook it up to campsite electricity. Third row seat folds into a bed. Theres’s a matching tool box and ice chest that go with the van.

The bad:
-Driver’s side door damage (door and window operate fine).
-Typical old Chevy V8 valve seals (puff of blue oil smoke at startup and first acceleration, still uses only about 1/2 quart between oil changes)
-You won’t win any races with it.
-Typical (not great) fuel economy.

Will trade for first generation Mustang or $7,900.

The Bad, puff of smoke like you said means Valve Seals, so get them replaced, and then add it onto the price, or if you will not do this, then drop the price by 1K

Update: vehicle sale pending. I took money to hold the van for the buyer. I will also do the 120K oil change for the buyer, even though it’s got 300 miles to go before that mark.

Do it now so you can wash your hands of it otherwise you will hear his complaints later on.
