1981 Lawn boy F series

Hello,

I'm looking to buy an F series replacement engine for my 1981 commercial grade Lawn boy mower--the model with the red gas tank & wheels. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I made the HUGE mistake of storing it outside, and covered it with a mere vinyl tarp, during a heavy rain fall. Water got into the engine, and upon starting it, I realized it was running poorly, i.e. sever sputtering.

In spite of my attempt of further damage control, e.g. adding Sea Foam to the gas tank...Once the engine turned over & ran for 10 minuets, I heard a loud noise and the engine came to a complete stop. The End :-(

I'd watch Craigslist. You'll probably have to watch it for a couple months before something that you want comes up though.

Have you checked on the price of a short block??

I was about to say the same. Or if the case is not cracked, a crank, rod, piston/rings and some time?
