I'm looking for 16" steel wheels for my corolla. I know the bolt pattern is 5x100. My question is a lot of the universal steel wheels will have two patterns 5x100 and 5x114.3. Will any universal wheel that is 16" and 5x100 fit my application? They seem to be an import application to fit many models. Can I use my stock lug nuts?

No, you also have to get the right offset and they have to clear the calipers.

- BUT -

I would think that anything labeled *universal* would be .... Ah ..... universal and fit EVERYTHING - so may be they aren't really universal?

Stock lug nuts? Very, very likely

- BUT -

Why are you asking us and not the folks selling them? We don't know which wheels you are talking about and they do.

I would measure the backspacing on your existing wheel.

Is this for winter? - if your brakes clear -2 a 14 or at -1 a 15 would be better.

I have (2) 14" with 70 series winterforce snows for a Honda Fit to give away or for sale cheap

I ran them on my Fit and another set on my Yaris.

Made the yaris a snow bunny!

What year Corolla? Tire Rack and DTD's websites will give you the basic specs for your OEM wheels. Like you say, all the universals will come with 2 sets of stud holes. If your OEM wheels are steelies, those lug nuts should work with aftermarket steelies.

I know I went through something similar months ago when ordering another set of wheels for my 2016 Legacy. I went with cheap aluminums that came with 2 sets of holes, centering rings and a set of gorilla nuts that are splined with their own key as opposed to hex nuts. After the rebates and all through DTD it was pretty cheap, like under $200 all in.

You still haven't found a set of wheels? What happened to the 2011 Prius wheels you were looking at? Those would have been perfect.

There are probably multiple "universal" wheels with different offsets, the vendor should help you get the one that will fit your car. They'll also know if your OEM lug nuts will work with the new wheels. I prefer sticking to OEM take offs to match the hub bore diameter for hub centric mounting.

How much do you save by not going to the Toyota dealer for oem steel wheels?

Check out those posts, he started them! He should decide already or get off the pot. If you get "front wheel drive offset" (positive) you're close enough.
