$1500 price hike on some GM vehicles mandatory 3 years of OnStar

Just ask the dealer for an extra $1500 off, if not walk, err, drive away.
And ask the dealer to physically disconnect it or do it yourself. It can be done, I was reading you have to sign a waiver for them to do it.
If anyone thinks these systems are for their benefit they need think about it some more, it is for the nanny state and repo mans benefit.

Most dealers are charging well above MSRP now either directly or with $1800 paint protection and "required" service contracts, so it doesn't surprise me GM is getting in on it.

From the article:

“Also mentioned is that the same situation could face Chevy customers, as the brand is reportedly still finalizing its plans for similar services.”

This has been the big problem for GM. All their brands acting like separate entities. It’s all one and the same no matter which brand name you pick. Meanwhile GM is pushing their antiquated system on customers when Apple and Android have the system available.

All ships must sail in the same direction except if you are GM.

Testing software to remotely kill your PCM if you stop payments...or future law enforcement "options"...
They already do it on phones....
