I ran 10W30 ML syn SL in my 2000 Tundra last year. On a hunting trip to South Dakota with early morning starts in the low to mid teens F, it would start fine but with a grinding/dieseling sound for a few seconds. I made the same trip this year with PP 5W30 SM (old formula) with similar morning temps and had no grinding/diesel engine like sounds.
FWIT, I'd recommend finding a jug of 5W30 ML syn for the winter and save your 10W30 for summer.
