Got 10000 miles and 1 year on this Mobil 1 EP oil filter. Good for another 10,000 miles or time to throw it out?
YesJust curious but was that on the Rav4? Filter looks great for the miles.
At 10K I'd install a new filter. Can't tell how loaded it is by looking at it unless you have microscope eyeballs.
It would look like that at a 1000 miles.View attachment 122839
Still looks like it’s time to replace it.
Wonder how many engine hours that was? Does your DIC tell you that?It would look like that at a 1000 miles.
Yes, and if you removed it at 1000 miles, it would be time to replace it then as well. You’re playing with fire by trusting a cartridge to be installed and removed multiple times. You’re obviously free to do whatever you want.It would look like that at a 1000 miles.
I think it was the OP's attempt at sarcasm. Said instead of " Look how great this looks after 1 year!Replace the filter.
I'm not sure what the OP was attempting, but you might be right. 10K on a $10 +/- filter and he went through the bother to remove it, sparked my reply of, replace the filter.I think it was the OP's attempt at sarcasm. Said instead of " Look how great this looks after 1 year!
It does look fantastic for a 10K run in the Pennsylvania climate.

Hmm. Do you get many Waspish Vampiresses coming by looking for Treats at Halloween?
I didn't think I was being sarcastic. Just wanted to hear if people think these filters were good for 20,000 miles like Mobil 1 claims. I replaced with a much durable looking Fram Ultra.I think it was the OP's attempt at sarcasm. Said instead of " Look how great this looks after 1 year!

If it’s installed and left undisturbed, probably. More durable is always preferred though.I didn't think I was being sarcastic. Just wanted to hear if people think these filters were good for 20,000 miles like Mobil 1 claims. I replaced with a much durable looking Fram Ultra.
