4L of XD3 and a Napa Gold filter=$27 every 20,000km, all taxes included. Or I could go to a private shop every 5k and pay $35 for dino and a no-name filter...or not!

I occasionally use a local European specialist (Porcshe, BMW, MB) and pay $45 for an oil change for a synthetic blend of Amalie and Wix filter on my Subaru. This is out of convience as I can walk from the garage to my house.

My favorite thing they do is check the spare everytime for proper air pressure beyond tires.

I knew some of you super premium brand and luxury car owners would be getting hosed if you went to the dealer, but I never suspected it to be this bad.

DIY, here, too:

5 quarts of TropArtic Synthetic Blend: $5.00 + tax.
1 SuperTech 3593A oil filter: $2.07 + tax.
The fun of doing it myself: priceless.

$100.00 oil change, if you will pay it there will certainly be someone willing to take your money. Changing oil isn't rocket science. If you have the bucks and are willing to pay $100.00 fine; if you don't (like me) schedule a half an hour before the game begins on the weekend and save yourself $75.00 (This is only an estimate. Actual savings may vary).

$120 OC on a Lexus? And you don't live in Beverley Hills?

HMMMM.

What would it cost if it were a Toyota? But...isn't it a Toyota (improved in various aspects, of course)?

Cheapest i've seen an oil by a dealer for my Beemer is $84 bones.

Big deal.

How would you like to live with the $100 fill up?

There's guys who have to suffer through that fleecing every week. I see at least a couple of "triple digit" sales on the pumps every time I swing by the station around the corner.

quit driving a boat.

$32 to fill up a bone empty tank, and $4.37 for oil change - .59 cent quart formula shell x 4 + $2.01 supertech filter.

chances are if you're driving a porsche, BMW, or mercedes, $100 oil change doesn't mean much.

that is unless you are living way above your means and are finding it hard to "hack it"
