"The rear axle and suspension are stock, too, and look "exceptionally for a 20-year-old truck with 1.3 million miles on it," as Pickup Truck Plus SUV Talk says." Oh god, 1.3M-mile old shocks, springs and bushings. That thing has to be one of those old SDs dangerously swaying in all three axis and bobbling all over the roads I see constantly here in Texas.

It's a 7.3, we had an E-350 make it to around 700K before the company gave up on the disintegrating body. Also, the guy is a hotshot driver, which means he spends a lot of time cruising down the interstate, not banging through the gears in town-and being in the rust-free south is a HUGE advantage!

Seems like a pretty smart guy. Cares about his customer, doesn't put any cheap parts on the car. He uses Motorcraft oil/filters and recommended BG fluid exchange services. Michellin tires only. Interesting to hear 1 million miles out of the original injectors with BG Diesel fuel service regularly.

Still not shifting a lot, probably not beating on it (like I probably would, to be totally honest). The ZF 6 speeds aren't horrible, but my indy's wrecker driver has had some issues with them (nowhere near 1M miles, either). I'm just amazed by the lack of rust on it-the Fords of those years are all ate up badly around here-but still clattering along.

Or, per a recently banned poster, you do a completely engine flush every OCI.

We'll see how long "masculine pursuit" lasts in LA stop and go traffic. LOL.Or even small towns and cities these days. Great if you live in ND or somewhere like that with maybe 3 cars on the road. Used to enjoy my 6 speed manual but no more. Too much work moving 2 feet and stop. Repeat like 1000 times to go a mile.
