So my honda van specs 0w-20 oil and have been using happily penzoil platinum for >100k miles.

My little Jeep calls for 5w-20 - but i'm thinking i can standardize and run both on the 0w-20.

thoughts?

0w20 will be fine for the jeep. You are in the northeast so it will be better for cold starts in the winter as well.

Yeah I wouldn't think twice about using 0w20 in both. Since Pennzoil has a habit of running on the "thin" side anyway, you'll be fine.

You can interchange without a single concern or difference in oil-change-interval. So long as it's synthetic vs synthetic or conventional vs conventional.

I totally agree that 0W20 would work fine in a 5w20 spec'd engine. OTOH, I think 5w20 is also fine in all but the most extreme cold conditions (like Alaska, Minnesota winters etc...)....as a plus the 5w20 often has better NOACK numbers.
