0W-20 Oil Shortage at local Wal-Mart anyone else notice?

Same thing in my local Walmart. Seems like some shops (especially small ones) are hording these. Being probably the most common called for oil.

Doubt it. They just have it, because everyone goes to Wal-Mart or the big box stores, because its cheaper.

Most new eco boxes spec 0w20 so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the most in demand viscosity.

Just go thicker.

Oh no! I might have to run 0w30, 0w40, 5w30 or even 10w30 in my car, surely leading to its demise!

Edit: forgot about 5w20 also, surely leading to its demise.

There is no more sure fire way to damage your engine than to run 5w20.

Well, our grocery store was out of filet mignon for Christmas Eve dinner, so I went with a ribeye. That's kind of how I see this "problem".

We have plenty of 0w-20 and 5w-20 near me. Wasn’t the 5.3l designed for 5w30 and then re specd to w20 for cafe standards? Probably could happily run 5w30 I would assume.
