Hi all,

I have read here that I should regularly change the ATF due to there being some past intermittent problems with the Honda 5 spd automatic. Does this still hold true for the 09's? I normally change the ATF on my Subaru at 15,000 mile intervals. Is this same interval good for the Honda?

Thanks!

The 09's hopefully have been fixed and won't cause the same problems as the earlier 5 speeds, but it's too early to tell obviously, so I would drain/fill every 15K Miles to be safe. Fluid is cheap while transmission are not.

I would also have an auxiliary cooler installed if you can, as heat is what normally kills a transmissions.

The newer ones are pretty stout...

The 09 Pilots have a trans cooler as standard. So, every 15K it will be.
