Put a starter on a friends truck today at work. What a nasty way to hide a starter, esp after that many years of salted roads. Expensive job!

No behind the right side ex. manifold. Flat rate book says 7 hrs! You are supposed to pull manifold, but no way it was coming off .....bolts/nuts are rusted blobs. So snuck it out, but was not fun. Coolant pipes/dipstick/3 layers of heat shields in way. Took about 2.5-3 hours.
So many people rip on that design, but I think it is pretty cool. As long as the intake comes off fairly easy though.
