I have a 6.0 with 121,000 and needs a rebuild kinda disappointing it needs so soon, main bearing is bad and low oil pressure and burning oil.

I looked at a crate engine that I like but is it hard to install on this model year truck or same as any other truck install.

rebuilding is also option but kinda a fan of new engine.

thoughts?

Is there any reason to believe installation difficulty would differ between the crate engine and a rebuilt one? It sounds like the engine needs to come out and be reinstalled either way.

Unless I had a rebuilder lined up who had a rock-solid reputation, I would rather have the crate engine too.

Buy a Pull Plate, I have this one HERE that I modified to fit 3rd & 4th gen LSx engines. You'll need to remove the 2 top bellhousing bolts once the Intake is out of the way.
They're not that bad in my opinion, But I've done hundreds of them which distorts my opinion!

Sure it's a main bearing, Rod bearings are 10x more likely to fail & even that's a rarity on a LSx engine.
