SubLGT - My personal observations lead me to conclude this:

Wear metals increase linearly on a fully broken in engine in a good state of tune and when using the same oil for consecutive oil changes.

When any of those factors is muddled, the dissolved metals will no longer show up in a linear fashion. Which I why I, personally, consider any interpretation of a "higher" metal count on a newly introduced oil UOA to be fairly worthless.

I'd say that Fe tends to track mileage. Other stuff, not so much.
