Guys, I am in between back to back overseas business trips,currently on family vacation in the middle and if I don't get this typed before wife and daughters catch me,.... divorce will seem like a pleasant option.

I saw the locked thread on this mazda MZR/ pennzoil 5w20 test and appreciate bulwnkls willingness to keep our recommendations and commentary close to the vest. Wish I could have posted there so I could add to a positive direction.

Here's what I can share here for those needlessly hammering LC usage.

BTW Ray I work as a consultant periodically with the tribologists at that company you quote. If anyone could moderate a chemistry it would be a tribologist that is outside the formulating company but work as a hired gun for them!

This engine uses bushing/bearing alloys of high cu content. This engine design is very sensitive to wear-in fuel dilute levels. Thus the copper is high. Think ,new LS1 engines bearing and bushing alloys wear/leachate we saw in many analysis reports a few years ago.

A particular fuel additive however contributed to the increased reactive cu indications. Not LC or FP. Like many fuel adds we have observed reacting to bearing materials when fuel dilution is an issue.

Slick when you find a "solvent" that can lubricate AND lower friction while cleaning let me know. And one in constant use since the 1940's!

Thousands of folks are using LC and FP with no problems and many are sharing their oil analysis reports here, thats says a lot for the product.

I agree with Ray in the sense that most folks should not be backyard chemists and willy nilly change the fully formulated lubes.

Using analysis data and proprietary background knowledge that I cannot share with anyone, I am able to assist in fine tuning my customers specific application, using whatever I see is needed for that customers car, without bowing to any brand, including those mentioned in this discussion.

As this engine breaks in and fuel dilute is contained for a number of reasons wear will track lower.

Guys, if any of you are 'disbelievers,' the analysis I got for this engine and application is one of the reasons Dyson Analysis is well worth its price.
