my coolant cap says fl22.

the car has 70,000 miles on it and i was going to drain and fill, but i read it should be good to go for 150,000 miles.

what do you think?

what would you use to replace it? im guessing the fl22 is a mazda thing. does walmart carry an equivelant?

Ford and Mazda both use it, although the Ford stuff currently comes in a Mazda bottle. it is premixed, 45/55.

Yes, dealer only item and comes pre-mixed, the only alternative would be Zerex Asian formula (or something like that), but I don't think you can find it in stores yet, as it is pretty new.

My Mazda dealer sells FL22 for abou $11+tax for a gallon, which is not too bad, call your local dealer and ask.

I use Prestone Extended in my 04' Mazda6 with no problems. It must also be a later model thing, because my coolant cap doesn't have the FL22 on it.
