I recently purchased an 03 Acura with high performance engine-it is driven in cold weather--but always warms up, not stop and start--28,000 miles. What would be the optimal oil for maximum engine life?
thank you
John

What grade of oil does it call for?

5W-20

Especially for the cold MN winters, I'd run M1 0W-20. Summer, I'd run either 0W-30, 5W-30 or 0W-40.

Here in ATL, I'm running a M1 blend of 0W-30 and 0W-40 in my 3.2TL.

Just my 2¥

judging by experience of how those engines like to rev, and how they behave at cold startup, Id say thata 0w- oil would be a good bet. Especially since even at temp, they dont like to run anything too thick.

Id run a very thin M1 30 weight oil if you drive it hard, or M1 w-20/5w-20 (the 0w- is being discontinued) if the car gets mostly highway miles.
