coworker has this, crew cab, 4wd, 4.3 v6. unk mileage. CEL on, scanned a month ago, was a TCC not locking right/ in out speed issue. Forget the code number. Since got worse, slipping in 3rd and 4th.
Fluid looked low on the goofy spiraly dipstick, put half a quart in for grins, didn't improve any, leaving that alone. No visible leaks.
Trucking up hill at 2/3 throttle, selector in overdrive, transmission in 2nd, hit 30-33 MPH and it practically throws itself in neutral. Not at the time I think it would go into 3rd either, probably 2800 RPM.
Kept in manual 2nd it seems to keep on going no matter what.

Anyone have an interchange guide for these? Like are there bunches of different valve bodies/tailshafts on the same basic trans?
