'02 Honda Civic, 85k, not on warranty. Is there any reason not to mix in 1 qt 5w-30 to 3 qt 5w-20 in an oil change? Oil is all Pennz YB, I just have a jug of 5w-30 left and no 5w-30 cars any more.

Probably won't hurt too much. I'd do it in the summer if I did it at all. If it were my car, I probably wouldn't do it though.

It'll blow the engine. Google it.

In all seriousness it won't make a bit of difference.

This can't be a serious question.

5w30 fill is recommended fill in OZ for 2002 Civic 1.7L.
Mix in a litre and you have a 5w22 ?

It should be fine, unless there is some evil lurking in the heart of your Honda's D16 engine.....but you would know about that.

Wow, what do you think is so wrong with that? I have mixed oils for a while no problems whatsoever. To the OP you can do it no problem.

PYB mixing wont hurt a bit. Id mix any grade within reason. I obviously woulndt mix my 0w20 with a 20w50. Some what defeats the purpose.
