01 Ford Escape V6 What To Use In Transfer Case-PTO

i will be changing the rear end gear oil and also the transfer case which ford calls the P.T.O. on a 2001 ford escape v6 what oil does everyone like for that application? Vehicle has 190,000 miles.. No history on what oil is in there now.

I went right to the dealer a few years ago for my PTO fluid for my 2004. It is a full synthetic Motorcraft. I do not remember the viscosity but it takes less than a Quart and I wanted to use the exact correct fluid. It was not real expensive if I recall correctly.
I do remember the old fluid looked real [censored] and this was at 100,000 miles. I was glad I changed it.

If it's just one quart that is needed, I would go OEM as suggested by Brad

I have done many kohler builds, my mahine shop friend mandates ND oil only, for first 5 hrs.
Showed me manuals updated in late 1980's, saying that.
He says AW is a must, but you don't want detergents til after break-in.

OEM fluid for the PTO, and I think Ford likes 75W-140 for the rear end.
