Do you really need to change oil annually, if driven only 1000 miles a year?

I change mine once a year regardless of miles, but it sits for three months in tjecc C winter, that’s why. I change it right before I put it away for winter and I fill it up with ethanol free gas and add fuel stabilizer as well.

Engine Oil Recommendation 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 3.5L V6

5k-7k depending on how I use the truck. This is the same with all my Toyotas. My LC doesn’t get driven much about 2k a year and I’m changing that oil every year before I let it sit for 3 months in the winter. For you I would run Mobil 1 ep 5w30 or whichever synthetic you like but I would favor...

Engine Oil Recommendation 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 3.5L V6

I just bought a 2024 Tacoma and I dumped the factory fill at 550 miles and I put Mobil 1 EP 5w-30. This is what I run in all my Toyotas except my LC, I use HPL PCEO 5w-40.

    Anyone here still using 15w40?

I run 15w50 in this beast!

Oil change interval for 2019 and 2021 Toyotas

I would do 5k oil change, unless you are using Lucas oil, then you can do 20k changes easily. Their oil is really great just read it on the bottle. Also, all the drag strip cars L, any racing team, and NASCAR use it because they all have the Lucas oil stickers on their cars.

    Oil Change: Hot or Cold?

Oil drains best at 152 degree F, not any hotter or colder. There is your answer.

    Preowned SUV reliable models.

Why do you still buy it and drive if it sucks so bad. Sounds like you hate the LC, but you drive one.

    Preowned SUV reliable models.

I never had brake issues like that with any of my LC’s, I do replace rotors when the pads wear out and centric premiums work great. None of my LC’s had the air suspension so I can’t speak for that.

You must beat the crap out of it.

    Preowned SUV reliable models.

Find an early model 200 series Land Cruiser, with a couple hundred thousand miles it will still outlast anything else out there.

Mobil 1 Classic 0W30: best cold weather oil?

Wind chill has no bearing on temp for oil. It’s just how cold it is. Engines don’t know anything about “ with wind chill”.
  17. Chief119

Does the oil brand actually matter? Is this all just hyperbole?

If you hang around long enough you will know, like everyone else, that Lucas oil is the best oil ever made or is it HPL? Now I’m confused.

2023 VB WRX - Subaru has conflicting oil recommendations!

I would never run 0w20 in that engine. I would use 5w30 at a minimum, regardless what any of it says, but that’s me. You can run either. I would not worry about any warranty issues with either oils.

Mobil 1 Classic 0W30: best cold weather oil?

No telling how many years it was sitting there and just got in it and floored it. Definitely must have HPL premium plus in it. It had to, right?

LSJr's Video Testing Data - Pennzoil and Quaker State's Differences

I called Toyota corporate and got some lady on the phone and asked her if all the dealerships used HPL in all their bulk oil, can you believe she didn’t even know what I was talking about. I guess it’s a mystery.
