Havoline pro DS. Equal to the other top wal mart oil selection ?

I've used Havoline Pro DS 5w30 Eco 5 in my 2014 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 V8. I change the oil every 5000kms and it has been perfectly fine. I do use a can of LM MoS2 and LM Hydraulic Lifter Fluid, every alternate oil change. Pro DS 5w30 is also the same oil we use in my brother's 2010 Ford...

I'd love to see Havoline Pro DS added to the database. Anyone done a VOA on it?

Havoline pro DS. Equal to the other top wal mart oil selection ?

I'm currently using Havoline Pro DS 5w30 in my 2014 Ram 1500 and I change the oil every 5000 kms (approx 3106 miles). I find it a good strategy for preventing the dreaded Hemi tick, based on what I learned from the guys on the Ram forum. I do about 5000kms in 1.5 months which means I have to...

    Valvoline All Climate 5w30

Did a search on there, no UOA or VOA. Just copies of the datasheets that are available on the Valvoline website.

    Valvoline All Climate 5w30

Looking at two different sites.. Two different product ranges. USA - https://www.valvolineglobal.com/en/motor-oil/ Middle East and Africa - https://www.valvolineglobal.com/en-mea/motor-oil/ Would be great if Valvoline had a the same products for everyone, all over the world. Even companies like...

    Valvoline All Climate 5w30

Thanks. All good over here. Roads are still a mess with parts of major highways closed because of the standing water, or should I say lakes. LOL. Dubai isn't a city built for rain. We rarely get any. I've been here 30 years and I can say that apart from this recent storm, we only had one other...

    Valvoline All Climate 5w30

I looked for Valvoline Advanced over here in Dubai and the local dealer told me that they don't get it. They get products from Valvoline's global line which is. Valvoline Synpower 5w30 Valvoline All Climate 5w30 Has anyone on here used them or have a used oil analysis or VOA Any idea how these...

Liquimoly Molygen vs Special Tec AA

Saw a post on the Ram forum where someone was running LM Molygen, MoS2 and LM Hydraulic Lifter Fluid in his truck with no issues. Yesterday I took the plunge and did the same - well Molygen 5w30 and Lifter fluid. I didn't use MoS2 - although I am tempted to try. The old oil was Mobil 1 FS 0w40...

    LM MoS2 and a Hemi

I saw a thread of someone using LM Molygen 5w30 and MoS2 as well as LM Hydraulic Lifter Fluid in his engine. I just used LM Molygen 5w30 with Hydraulic Lifter fluid in my current oil change yesterday. So far, I like how the engine sounds. The previous oil in it was Mobil 1 FS 0w40. I noticed...

Ram 1500 - Water in 8 Speed ZF Transmission

Facing the lifter failure twice was more user error. I went to be cheap. I would consider replacing the truck, however I've put more into it with the android head unit, the 4" lift, etc. Getting new truck would mean spending large amounts on a new lease and then even more giving it the mods that...

Ram 1500 - Water in 8 Speed ZF Transmission

My Ram 2014 has the 8 speed ZF 845RE and a couple of months ago I noticed that there was a shudder when it was driving at low speeds (40 - 60kph). Took it to the mechanic and figured that the transmission oil was due for a change. It was time for a major fluid change anyways, considering the...

    VOA Database

Its not that bad an engine, despite what people might say. I would say that if you use a good 5w30 like Redline and change the oil every 3000 - 4000 miles, you should be fine.

    VOA Database

Same here.. Apparently it is touted as the best oil if you have a v8 Hemi with that dreaded lifter tick. Doesn't cure it, just quietens the engine down so much that you think its cured.

Just thought that I would share this voa for Redline HP 5w30 to add to the database.

5w30 didn’t save me from the lifter tick

If using 5w30 oil didn't solve the lifter tick, then you could ago thicker. IMO the sure way to solve a lifter tick is replace the lifters. I can't say for the 3.6, but as someone who has faced the dreaded lifter tick 3 times on 2 different Ram trucks with the 5.7 V8 engine, I learned a good...

Liquimoly Molygen vs Special Tec AA

Thanks for the info @TiGeo. I've been told that we should not use Liquimoly Ceratec or MoS2 with Molygen. If that is true, what would be the reason. What about Special Tec AA? Any info on that? Also any info on MoS2 vs Lubegard Biotech? Are they similar products? Which one would be better?

Liquimoly Molygen vs Special Tec AA

So is what you're saying, normally Liquimoly does not have any moly in it..? Guess the brand name is more for irony sake... LOL. Thanks for the reply.
