    Pet peeve!! MOBIL not MOBILE

Lol.. don't let it under your skin. Here's the thing, autocorrect might be behind this misspelling without these folks realizing. I'm one of those people who don't like autocorrect on, particularly because I use technical terminology and weird shorts that are rarely used by the majority of...

    Copper salts might replace ZDDP?

Interesting video. The possibility of using copper as an alternative to ZDDP in engine oils is explored. Then the mechanism of organic copper salts work, how they create an anti-wear layer, and why they are chosen are illustrated. Do you think copper can completely replace ZDDP in engine oils...

2002 Expedition Oil Change Suggestions - Mostly Towing

Stepping up the viscosity is necessary in your case. A conventional HDEO in 10W-30 or 15W-40 changed every 2000-3000 miles is the best you can do.

Theoretical Justification to Use Traveller 15w-40 in my Wet Clutch MC's

I hear you loud and clear on the price tag difference between Rotella T4 and Traveller. Saving some bucks on oil changes for your motorcycle fleet is tempting, especially with 11 bikes to keep happy! The main concern that Traveller doesn't have the JASO MA means nothing in real world. On one...

How many languages do you speak?

For a person to be classified as bilingual, the person has to live as a child in an environment that is bilingual in terms of the language exchange pattern, for instance, a child raised by parents of different languages. Multilinguals, on the other hand, acquired other languages through learning...

How many languages do you speak?

I'm curious about what languages do you speak. Which languages do you enjoy learning or like listening to? Are you actively investing your time to pick a language or just passive about it? I speak Arabic, Hebrew, English, Spanish and Russian.

    Mobil 1 success

Group III has better performance/cost ratio and better additives solubility, suspension and response. Also long-term seals and gaskets compatibility should be mentioned.

Where is the stop threshold regarding oil leaks?

G II+ based oils are better at seal conditioning than GTL and to a great extent, PAO blends. Esters also exhibit poor hydrolytic stability, readily breaking down in water to form carboxylic acids and other acids that can damage seals. I'd pick a good CK-4 5W-40 and see how much it helps.

    M1 10w40 or Delvac 15w40

I would run Delvac MX for the higher TBN and ZDDP. Also the base oil of MX is thicker and has high density, indicating less VIIs. (There might be other variables affecting the density, but more often than not, oils with higher densities have thicker base oils).

These gold rims on a midnight blue would be awesome.

Can oil dilution cause a gasoline engine to rapidly consume oil?

I agree. I would return the car to the mechanic who did the job instead of doing the guesswork. It's not your job to rule out anything. You paid him to fix a problem and got a nasty one for free. That's how it looks to me.

Benefits of Running a Larger Oil Filter? (Cold starts etc)

Still very well within the margin of error to attribute the savings to the filter.

    Let’s pick my oil…

M1 ESP 5W-30 is great and if oil consumption is reasonable, I'd go with FS.

Benefits of Running a Larger Oil Filter? (Cold starts etc)

Oh, I was trying to say that one is more important than the other.. way more important. Paying attention to the air filter is more imperically beneficial more than a bigger oil filter will ever be. Oil filter is dealing with wear metals and soot, etc and it's very basic to have, but if air...

Benefits of Running a Larger Oil Filter? (Cold starts etc)

I see this like I see army and police. If you've a useless army, you can bet the police is not going to be better. It's less than useless.

Benefits of Running a Larger Oil Filter? (Cold starts etc)

The best oil filter is air-filter. Anything else is just a nonsense.
