How often do you clean your firearm?

Just like motor oil it all depends on your scenario/ needs. Modern firearms like Glocks, AR, AK etc don't really need to be cleaned as much. Once a year or 500-1000 rounds is reasonable. If it's a carry or duty gun after every range session. I used to always clean everything after the range...

    Another 737 mishap

While Boeing is having serious issues manufacturing aircraft it's not fair the media just misreporting everything. Most of the armchair experts blame maintenance, Boeing, etc for all of these issues. EVERY single day their are dozens if not hundreds incidents. Gate returns, rejected take offs...

    New Silverado Acquisition

I purchased a 2024 Sierra 1500 last year with a 5.3. New 10 speed is butter smooth. Even with sudden accelerations merging onto a highway is very smooth. Used to own a 2019 Silverado with a 8-speed. This 10 speed much better. I'm glad GM's version hasn't had much issues except a bearing I...

warranty calls for tool destruction !

I wouldn't destroy anything. Have them send a label and get their garbage fixed. Their opening themselves for a big lawsuit if somebody gets hurt trying to grind/ cut tools in half. I had a online retailer try the same BS on a pair of side steps that arrived damaged for a truck. I'm not chopping...

9mm Ammo brands how reliable? does it matter between these 3?

I'd stick with Magtec. It's made by CBC in Brazil one of the biggest military ammo suppliers. I'd avoid anything blazer as it's plated bullets and thin brass. Fiochii ammo is ok but for 9mm it's hotter and less accurate. Magtec is very consistent with excellent quality.

Filter Choice - 2023 Forester Wilderness

I just went through this issue with my 2021 Outback 2.5L. I just settled with a plain Wix 57055 @ 23 microns 99% with 27 psi bypass. Probably one of the nicer filters out there in terms of quality/ cost.

    2021 Subaru Crosstrek 2.5L; oil change interval 5K or 6K ?

There’s several Subaru DI UOA threads. I’d recommend 3k mile runs with 0W-20. I personally would stick with 0w30 for and 5w-30 for summer 5k mile OCI. 0w-40 euro would be great in warm weather. If you really want to get 6k mile OCI. Try out 30 -40 weight Euro ACEA C3 rates oils.

Bought new boat - what engine to get with it?

Yamaha is king not even a question. Way better warranty and support than Suzuki. Now Suzuki makes great engines but there’s no disputing Yamaha.

    New old stock AGM

Update: Spoke over the phone with Odyssey tech this morning. They asked me to exchange the battery without a question. AutoZone store nearby had one with no MFG date so they went ahead and ordered one from their vendor/ distributor instead. Should arrive this Tuesday. Store manager agreed to...

    New old stock AGM

Well I called a nearby NAPA and they have one dated November 2022. Should I just get that or just order direct from Odyssey and hope for the best?

    New old stock AGM

Replaced my factory battery on my 21 Subaru Outback with an Odyssey group 47 AGM from Auto Zone. After running it for a day I just noticed a “August 2020” manufacturing code. Close to 3.5 years old. Odyssey website recommends a shelf life of roughly 2 years before reaching 50% charge and needing...

Dealer underfilled the car with wrong weight oil…

Exactly why dealerships are not touching my vehicles unless its absolutely necessary for warranty or recall work.

It's no different than throwing money away at other hobbies. I enjoy reading reports even if they are normal. What's the point of this forum then? Majority of the UOA posted here are just run of the mill.

Mobil 1 Truck SUV vs Extended Performance

Mobil 1 Truck SUV vs Extended Performance

If you have data EP is better than truck/SUV I’d like to see it. Would truly help me decide on my oil choice.

Mobil 1 Truck SUV vs Extended Performance

What’s the whole point of this thread? What’s your proof that it’s marketing? I’m sure Mobil spent money testing it to make that claim.

Mobil 1 Truck SUV vs Extended Performance

The back of the bottle of EP doesn’t claim 10% more resistance to oil break down like the Truck/ SUV does.

Mobil 1 Truck SUV vs Extended Performance

As far as either of these oils which of the two is better. I'm specifically interested in the 10% higher resistance to oil break down claim of the truck/ SUV model. Seems like it may be a better choice for a GDI engine vs EP. Many people claim marketing but the truck/ SUV usually costs more than...
