Hello folks, I have a 2018 VW Golf R with direct injection. The first 30K miles I used Castrol 5W-40 and now I am using 0W-40. At some point, I might have to worry about intake valve deposits, so can I use a low(er) SAPS oil instead? I don't think they are "backwards compatible" with the VW...

Hello folks, I have been running Castrol Edge 5w-40 in my 2018 VW Golf R for a few years now. All the oil analyses show a lower viscosity than other reports I'm seeing. It's probably because I do a lot of short trips in this car, and somehow the fuel burns off by the time I do the analysis...
