I give them a bottle each oil change to add when they fill up. I use it in my own vehicles every 3rd tank as directed for continuous use. Because it is directed for continuous use every 3rd tank of fuel I dont think it matters necessarily when it is in the fuel tank.

I did for over 100,000 miles on my EJ series Subaru with a 3-4k interval and was not impressed. EJ has easier rings to clean than FB series.

Carquest premium 95140 used for 5800 miles on its first Valvoline Restore and Protect interval, out of a 2022 Chevy Equinox with 76,000 miles. Definitely some cleanup evident compared to other oil changes on this vehicle.

Agreed with multiple Valvoline Restore and Protect recommendations above. It will also keep the avcs system clean which is an issue as they get dirty and restricted filter screens in the cam carriers

In one of my subarus HPL consumption nearly stops after 9,000-10,000 miles, regardless of viscosity used. It behooves me to run HPL as long as possible in that engine for overall less consumption. See what happens throughout your interval.
