    Sounds like me about Castrol

    Are you brand loyal?

Anybody loyal to one brand? In person I claim to not be brand loyal but I'm secretly loyal to Castrol. We own a 2019 KTM exc-f 500 that I've secretly used supertech cf2 in 400 hrs. Internals near perfect with that "Wrong" oil. We did a top end rebuild last week. Vehicles, tractor get the "Best"...

    0w16 availability

The difference between the two is so minimal. I now use it but that's only because it's available 1 mile from my house 27.00 for 5 quart jug. And it's going into two vehicles that actually spec 0w20 & 5w-30. But this next oil change will be a total of 20,000 miles per vehicle using the "WRONG" oil

Help with oil type and weight selection

It would nice to know his oil Temps. But I doubt he's producing so much heat & fuel dilution to warrant dem thick flavas 🤣

Help with oil type and weight selection

If not stock. I would probably stick with the castrol 30 wt. Or depending how I'm gonna be driving the car; Maybe some Redline 5w-20

Help with oil type and weight selection

Beautiful car dude. Stock turbos? Run some Gold Bottle 10w-30 and call it a day. That would be my choice.

    Mono-Grade Question

Is Mono grade inherently more Oxidativly stable versus Mutli? I've been using Supertech API SG motor oil in the KTM last three years.

    Valvoline's definitely off Rollback

I'm glad I have roughly 300 gallons of various oils in stock. I started hoarding in 2020. Before that I never had more than 4 or 5 quarts of motor oil/gear oil/ATF at a time.

Last oil change 15 months, 2100 miles ago...change or still good?

That's fine it most applications. I'm just OCD and would always change around 12 months if I had low mile vehicles but the way we drive; oil changes every 3 month's. Castrol or Supertech

    Beater car oil recommendations

Use Supertech Cf2/SG I have used it for 3 years in KTM 500 excf. If it works in a 2019 bike, I'm sure it's fine for a beater. 380 hours on the clock

The value of using base oils that run clean

I wasn't. I just figured it out. Doesn't seem like anything worth one's time or money unless racing

What is hpl? Royal purple? Where can I find this hpl?

Last oil change 15 months, 2100 miles ago...change or still good?

It needs to be changed, especially if not an oil burner(no top off in last 2,000 miles)

VOA, Super TECH Advanced Full Synthetic, 5W-20

Super tech is only about .50 cents cheaper per quart. Unless maintaining a fleet of vehicles; 6 or more. I'd fork out the extra 50 cents per quart to use what I like. CASTROL Gold Bottle 🍼 is my personal fav.

    Walmart SuperTech SAE 30 CF-2

I use it with success in my KTM 500 which is wet Clutch. Same Clutch grab as the Motorex. I don't know about wear metals vs Motorex but it's worked for me last 3 changes.

    Converted Thinnie

What is the opinion on castrol here on bitog?

My father in law would tease me saying "He thinks it has little green men that clean his engine"

What is the opinion on castrol here on bitog?

That's all I used back then. I was loyal to Mobil 1 until I discovered BITOG in early 2000s & subsequently GC 0w30 🥰

What is the opinion on castrol here on bitog?

Castrol is all I use; Or rather all I spend my money on I should say.I use all their flavors because I like to collect the changing designs over the years.

Jiffy Lube Synthetic Oil Change - $109.99!

Considering that technician is gonna spend 48.00 to purchase lunch for him & one other technician in 2022. I don't think 110.00 is unreasonable. Rather the technician gets paid 100 an hour, that's a different discussion.
