From the standard Kohler filter to the frame there's about 1 1/2 inches to spare, including the space needed to spin the filter off the mount, so I think the 3614 will be as big as can fit there.

I shouldn't have said crumble here - the middle layer is not brittle. It just tore easily with very little effort.

fwiw, 9395 is also full synthetic. The part numbers are different suppliers iirc.

If memory serves, roughly 100k with dealer bulk (previous owners), maybe 18k with Mobil 1 0w-30 AFE, and the last 28k or so with 0w-40 FS.

I've had a few OCIs now of 0w-40 with a lot of carbon debris in the filter, but that looks to be tapering off. I might cut this one at 5k and if it looks good, then go 2 5k OCIs.
