Honda ATF DW-1 vs Castrol Transmax import

I've read in Honda forums, that the Maxlife is a popular alternative but you get harsher shifts. I'm in Canada and AFAIK, the DW-1 is full synthetic in Canada, but not in the USA. I only buy DW-1 because of peace of mind - I won't wonder if the alternative is sufficient or not - but, ****...

    COSTCO batteries

Good to know. I assume the policy is the same here, too, as all the Walmarts shut down their auto centers.

    COSTCO batteries

I'm not a member either but a relative has a member in their family. So, it will be somewhat inconvenient as I would have to ask them to buy it (and bring the one in my car to get the core charge back). I don't know if it's worth it but here, it's a cheaper battery than the Walmart Everstart...

    COSTCO batteries

Interesting, thanks for your thoughts. I don't think JCI makes these batteries anymore - either brand. I believe the Walmart batteries are made by Exide now. At least, in Canada. It might be the same for Costco batteries (at least, Kirkland) but I'm not sure. Kirkland auto batteries are, AFAIK...

    COSTCO batteries

My current battery is old - I left the lights on and it went dead - I had to boost it twice this summer. I doubt, it goes all winter. I hope to buy a battery before Winter starts. My relative has a Costco membership and my local Walmart is nearby. The Walmart Everstart Maxx batteries are a bit...

Slight changed Mobil 1 0w20 containers

That new one on the left was the one I was looking at, too (at WM). It was one of 3 jugs I was considering for my Accord 2.4L - I ultimately chose the QSUD.

Switching to Mobil 1 on the Honda

I ran PP 0W20 in my 2007 Honda Accord previous oil change. I needed to do a new oil change and had the choice of either PP again (last jug in the store) or QSUD so I decided to switch to QS this time. Both were the same price. I think the QSUD is a tiny bit thicker - from the data out there but...

Maxlife ATF or Beck Arnley Premium ATF for 2007 Honda Ridgeline?

I'm inclined to agree and if something happens with the transmission and you used something different than DW-1, Honda and other transmission mechanics might point that out - and there's nothing you can respond with? I bought ATF that someone had extra of and that was my only concern - it was...

Maxlife ATF or Beck Arnley Premium ATF for 2007 Honda Ridgeline?

Didn't someone on here post a chart comparing the contents of the fluids - Idemitsu, Max Life and DW-1 were in the comparison. I am not sure what to make of the results but Idemitsu and DW-1 weren't identical.

    Honda ATF change questions

It seems to be shifting fine. I read that you shouldn't use anything other than DW-1.

    Honda ATF change questions

So I hear/have been told. If I change it myself, I just need a jack stand and jacks? It does sound like it is advisable to do a 4th drain and fill sometime down the line just to be sure.

    Honda ATF change questions

The transmission filter is part #25430-PLR-003. This never has to be replaced? Someone posted a Honda ATF data sheet and it included a comparison of the Idemitsu and Honda ATF. I think some of the ingredients/contents were slightly different. I did read that Idemitsu is used in some parts of...

    Honda ATF change questions

2007. 7th gen. Can you explain why I don't need to change the transmission filter, please?

    Honda ATF change questions

I have several questions. I couldn't find data/info on when the last ATF was done so doing it now. I recall, knowing about this when I bought the car - but when I asked a Honda dealer to look up the VIN, he couldn't find any work in the computer records. He said only 3 years is kept, though. I...

    0W20 for K24?

2007. I thought it was an SE but it has tire sizes for an EX.

    0W20 for K24?

Honda now recommends 0W20. I was at my local dealership and had to buy coolant and the crush washers (doing both ATF and oil changes). 5W20 is acceptable. I just decided to go with 0W20, QSUD. Purchased an XG7317 to go with it. Wish me luck. ;-)

2AZ-FE - What is the best oil option?

I guess you chose an oil by now. Both Toyota and Honda are recommending 0W20 oil now for k24 engines for Honda and 2AZ-FE engines in Toyotas. 5W20 is compatible and 5W30 is acceptable but Toyota will probably recommend 0W20 or 5W20 (if you don't have the choice for 0W20). These webpages might...

    0W20 for K24?

I need oil (0W20) for my 7th Gen Honda Accord. MM shows 15% oil life. I was planning on getting it done early next week. I guess Walmart has the cheapest oil choices (in Canada vs Crap Tire). The ones I am looking at - I am wondering if you guys will say 'get the cheapest one' or 'flip a coin.'...
