Just got a reply back from a liqui moly rep, and they said that ceratec when used as described does not change the sae viscosity class of the motor oil.

Ceratec doesn’t claim to increase/decrease viscosity. I guess you missed the part where I said 5w20 and 5w50 both ticked. I doubt ceratec is increasing the viscosity of a 20 weight oil to over a 50 weight if it does increase viscosity.

Only a normal dyno sheet with horsepower, torque, air & fuel was provided.

Mine didn’t come with a sheet like that. Don’t think it’s low oil pressure as the tick occurred on both 5w20 and 5w50.

Good question. No idea. Replacing the lifters on the other side of the engine isn’t needed as the other side sounds fine. Engine sounds fine on cold start, and the noise only appears at operating temp at idle. Raise the rpms slightly to 1200 rpm, and the noise goes away. Doesn’t sound like a...

I had the car checked out. Nothing was found to be wrong with it. The noise sounds like a lifter issue, so I had them all replaced on the side that was in question. Didn’t resolve the issue.

It doesn’t say instantly anywhere on that webpage I linked. Not a problem. I can hear which one works better at reducing friction already, and I won’t be running lubegard in the future. I actually tried lucas oil stabilizer, and it didn’t do anything either.

Yep, which implies it should work instantly. Which it clearly didn’t work instantly. One clearly works instantly while the other doesn’t.

Yeah, changed my oil the first time, and used Lubegard. Tick was still present at operating temp when idle. Changed oil second time a few hours later, and tried Ceratec. Tick gone at operating temp when idle. Lubegard says it works instantly on the bottle, but clearly it doesn’t work instantly...

Tried both today. Ceratec worked instantly while Lubegard biotech continued to tick. Engine 4.6L DOHC.

Just trying to quiet down a tick my car has only when at normal operating temp at idle.

Which is best, and why? Also which ones quiets your engine the most? Thanks.
