    Lucky coincidence with holster

Thanks for the suggestion...I did check both out as noted. Guy already packed and shipped the Fobus. Will have it by Friday.

    Lucky coincidence with holster

Seems neither make a paddle holster for the Security .380 Also, I stick with what I practice with. Have Fobus paddle holsters for every carry gun I have. 1-2 for the large frame ones too.

    Lucky coincidence with holster

I went to order it on eBay and the seller was offering it to me for $22.50 or best offer. I didn't want to press my luck or get greedy. Done deal 👍

    Lucky coincidence with holster

I did....and I get 20% off of a purchase of anything but a gun and I have to use it in the the next 25, days...for registering for warranty which I did the other day. Why am I not surprised that the guy that buys 2 guns in 2 days is telling me to go for it!😂

    Lucky coincidence with holster

I like Fobus paddle holsters. Easy on/easy off...decent concealment and retention. I searched for one to fit my new Ruger Security .380 and they do have them but Optics Planet is the only one I can find selling it online=$38+ $11 shipping. Seems kind of steep, especially the shipping charge and...

    Jersey Mike's Subs Stock JMKE

Our primary home is 35 miles outside of Philly. Our beach house is in Cape May County NJ. Both areas are a target rich environment for the best hoagies and cheesesteaks anywhere...safe to add pizza to that mix for that matter. There's a chain that does a respectable job in the region too...

    Jersey Mike's Subs Stock JMKE

Jersey Mike's started in Point Pleasant Borough, NJ. I was in high school and every other Wednesday we had half days for teacher in-service or some such thing. My buddy had a house in Pt. Pleasant so we'd put our surfboards in his yellow Ford Econoline van...head down the GS Parkway and surf...

    Chinese pool pump

It's interesting how the XtremepowerUS are painted the same color as Haywards.

    Chinese pool pump

I'm in NJ too. I replaced ours with the newer version of the Hayward that died after 8 years of solid use. I think it was $750 for a 1.5 hp single speed. I go with what our pool service company carries. I have seen those Aquastrong pumps on Amazon for half the price though. Be interesting to...

I tried to retire and failed

How tall are you?...because if you're 300 or 300+ and you're not like 6'5"... somethings not adding up here.

    Instant coffee? Yes/No?

I wrote off instant coffee decades ago. I did , however, experience a surprisingly decent instant years ago. Guy I worked with gave me a few of those little paper tubes of Starbucks instant. I'm not a fan of Starbucks...but the stuff was actually pretty good. Don't know if they even make it anymore.

    Gun cleaning day

There were 3 editions of the Detectives Special from 1927-1986. I believe yours is a first edition=1927-1946. Mine is a second edition=1949. The ejector rod on mine is a bit shorter. The third edition =1973-1986 had the ejector rod shroud. I had similar grips as those on mine briefly...I think...

    Gun cleaning day

It was my off duty gun/back up gun. I think I paid $150 for it at a pawn shop in East Orange NJ....a few weeks before I entered the NJSP Academy . Came with a simple holster and 12 rounds of .38. Found out it belonged to a Newark NJ detective. Must of served him well. Certainly served me well.

HVAC installer cut the roof truss for filter access - my repair

That repair is squared away. I get that the HVAC hack is a clown but the home inspector that didn't catch the problem is riding shotgun in the clown car with him.

    Gun cleaning day

I found Rem Oil useful once. Used several drops of it on my trusty Colt Detectives Special Second issue I kept in our beach house. I started to see slight rust pitting. The Rem Oil and ultra fine steel wool cleaned it up nicely. I don't keep it there anymore. Keep my Rossi 85104 and a .38...

central air unit blowing hot air - capacitor replaced

For <$20, keeping a spare capacitor on hand is smart. I've found that the HDX MERV 8 equivalents or from Amazon are just fine for our beach house HVAC. Amazon has the Simply Filters...6 pack is $32. I change them ever 2 months For filters, I use the F|ilterbuy through Amazon prime for the main...

which refrigerator to buy; video from a washer and dryer technician

I've got one in our beach house going on 9 years without a problem. The other in our primary home going on 4. Had to have the ice maker replaced under warranty but it's been fine since.

which refrigerator to buy; video from a washer and dryer technician

I've had good experience with Whirlpool sidexsides. The only feature being ice and water through the freezer door. I have two practically identical 25 cf ones in both homes. Whirlpool did change the ice maker design with the last one we bought(2022). While it works, it was not an improvement...

which refrigerator to buy; video from a washer and dryer technician

Fischer & Paykel is owned by Haier, a massive Chinese appliance manufacturer that also owns/makes GE major appliances. The lines are blurred between which of their appliance brands, models, types, share the same or similar designs and parts. Telling someone to just replace their refrigerator...
