Noticed that as soon as I cleaned the head gasket with alcohol! It was on every cylinder fire ring. Went to re-clean it with diluent and then alcohol.

Every fluid will be flushed, drained and replaced ;) Timing of the belt is now the headache I have at hands, but I'll rest on it and continue in the coming weekend!

Composite. Yes, water based sandpaper. I'll describe it down, step by step: 1 - disassembly 2 - covering the cylinder holes to prevent abrasives creeping down 3 - wetting the block gasket surface with Mistolin (strong oven degreaser) 4 - scrape the most of grit with a blade (x-acto), +/- 45º...

Thank you :) Everything was cleaned and blasted off with a 10bar air compressor. Every oil galery was covered to remove the possibility of contamination with abrasives. Tonight I'll clean it off again and start torquing to spec :)

Picture above this reply :) I hope so, although I covered every oil gallery to remove that possibility!

I read that the gasket should never have sealants unless the manufacturer asks for them. But thank you :)

Should be more clear now :p I was referring to this specific dent, it's very smal and hardly noticeable when I pass my finger over it.

Thank you for replying so fast. Of course, the head was resurfaced and cleaned with alcohol. And the block (cast iron) scraped with blades, scotchbrite and sandpaper, and the, cleaned thoroughly with alcohol. The image from the gasket is the cylinder head resting side.

Hello BITOG, Noob question: I am changing the head gasket, engine head resurfaced and all. But when mounting the head gasket I noticed a small mark in the fire ring. Do you recommend not assembling or when everything is torqued down that dent is not going to cause problems? Will the...

    Cylinder head - F8Q 630

Thank you very much for replying. This is a 25 year old car that I'm planing to sell. Maximum sell value would be 1500€ (1700$) Would you give it right away to machining or would you try to repair ir yourself if the head is not warped? Is high temperature epoxy worth a shot?

    Cylinder head - F8Q 630

Hello Bitog, Thanks for helping me again when I have no one give me insight. I'm repairing a 1998 Renault Clio II that I was going to sell. The last time it was fired up the coolant expansion tank was "vomiting" coolant. I did my tests and the head gasket failed. I took the engine apart and...

Problem is: The injector is only available with the ENTIRE throttle body. So it's, expensive af. The throttle sensor alone is 80$. :(

    Help about motorcycle

Ok, just came from a trip that served as a testing. Fitted a new injector and the problem seems to be fixed! At least i feel the engine climbing the revs as before. As to the oil level rising, only time and mileage will tell. Everything is automatic, handled by sensors. The idle changing is...

Valve lash is ok. Higher octane/lower octane is fine. Compression is fine. To make matters worse, spark plug threads stripped... Had to delay the testing. Time sert saved my baby butt!

    Help about motorcycle

Indeed! I didn't tested for compression because I assume it's perfect. The bike doesn't use any oil whatsoever. No smoke, nothing. Besides de carbon fouling on the plugs, they have no oil residues. As of today I'm inclined to buy a whole new throttle assembly. Yesterday, when I got back home...
