Low oil pressure caused by oil filter?

So I noticed the oil pressure gauge on my '94 Subaru Legacy seemed to be reading low. After I replaced the oil filter, the problem went away. It was taking about four seconds after startup for the oil pressure light to go off, then the oil pressure would very slowly rise. But it would never go...

Zerex G-05 for Subaru's, change to Zerex Asian?

Hello, I've been running Zerex G-05 in my 2000, 1996, and 1994 Subaru's for years. I see in recent years Zerex has come out with an Asian formulation. I'm wondering if I should switch to this Asian formula or just stick with the G-05? These older soobs all use Subaru's traditional coolant (not...

75w140 gear oil OK for Subaru differentials?

Hello, I've been running 75w140 GL-5 gear oil in my Subaru front and rear differentials for a few years. It's time to change out the oil, and I'm wondering if I should stick with the 75w140, or maybe go with 75w110 or even 75w90? The owner's manuals spec 80w90 for the front diff and 75w90 for...

Is LC20 ok for motorcycle with wet clutch?

Hi, I searched a bit but didn't see anything about it.... Does LC20 contain friction modifiers or anything that would make it unsuitable for a motorcycle with wet clutch? I'm prepping for storage and would like to put some LC20 into the oil. Bike is a 2007 Honda Interceptor VFR800 ABS. Thanks.

Will coolant filter filter out stop leak?

Hi all, I have some Baldwin additive free coolant filters and was about to install one in bypass on my '00 subaru 2.5L, but was wondering if it would filter out the stop leak/coolant additive? This engine has a TSB out for external head gasket leaks and subaru wants you to put in this 'coolant...

Need to uncork battery when charging?

Hello, is it necessary to uncork maintenance type batteries when charging? I always figure why, when the alternator charges the thing and you don't uncork it then, but my dad always said to uncork it when charging. Anyway today we were charging one and after a while it started bubbling around...

Q about Max ATV and CRC Ultra White Lithium Grease

Hello, have a '99 Max IV ATV that calls for a lithium based grease for each of 6 outside + 6 inside wheel bearings. Stick-On Magnets

allelectronics.com I bought some nice 4" or so dia. donut neo magnets for pretty cheap. Have to be careful with them, they have a tendancy to suck tools on to them, etc. If two get stuck together it's a job to separate them. They fit nearly perfectly on the end of common oil filters.

Dudes, I am assuming this error on my 4 drive striping/mirror array is bad??? I think this happened once before last year and I was able to rebuild the array without replacing the drive, but the nVidia prompts had me worried all along the way that I was going to blow up my computer. :/

Whoopsie! Sheared off the front stabilizer bar.

I took a peak under the car (2000 Subaru Outback) last night and noted that the front stabilizer bar (I think that's what it is) has sheared off on the driver's side at the frame mount/bushing. How critical is this stabilizer bar? Can I drive with it like that for a couple weeks until I have a...

Oil seeping around valve cover spark plug gaskets?

I just changed the spark plugs on my recently purchased used 2000 Subaru Outback 2.5L gasoline 4-cyl, 100k miles. This is the first spark plug change I've done since purchasing the used vehicle. Whilst changing the spark plugs, I noted some amount of engine oil around what I believe are the...

    Is it possible

I guess the only difference in going longer between adding it is that more junk will build up between doses. I add a little with every fillup as maintenance. I'm pretty sure the RedLine SI bottle says it can be done that way. It's sort of like making your own super detergent gasoline.
