It was very cold out when I changed this oil. I idled the car for a bit to warm up the oil. I'm guessing this is where the fuel came from. I ran this oil from April 08 to Feb. 09. The car now has Pennzoil Platinum 0w20 in it.

O.k., experiment over(an expensive one at that). Should I be worried about the bushing comment? Filter was a Purolator L20073. I'll be replacing this oil with PP 0w-20 this weekend.

This is the old Havoline. Still got another case to go. I refilled with 4 qts. PP5w20.

I took the sample cold after only pulling it out of the garage. The car holds just over 6 qts. of oil. My operating temp rarely goes above 180 degrees. I'm just experimenting. What do you guys think? From left to right, RP 0w10, PP 0w20, PP 5w20, M1 0w20, PP 5w20. Thanks.

The oil was stone cold when changed. This was this past winters fill. Filter was Purolator Premium L20073.

I don't know why they included Royal Purple #9 as additional information. It wasn't used in this vehicle. I reported the error to them. This was last winters fill. Oh, and I put the Mobil 1 in at about 10,000 miles. It now has just over 17,000. It now has Havoline 5w-20 in it.

Stopped by Advance today to pick up an Advance oil filter. None to be found. The guy behind the counter informed me that the Advance oil filter had been discontinued. Sorry if this is old news.

I found some apparently older Fram filters at the local Advance Auto. The boxes are faded and the filters don't have that black grippy stuff on them. They are the ph2849a. Are the older Frams of better quality than the current? When did they switch to cardboard endcaps? Thanks Mark
